‘From Albatros to Zebra’ will take you on a fun-filled tour through the city, giving you the inside scoop on the city’s animals. ‘With Wet Feet’ is an adventurous city walk for water lovers. Children can take the lead thanks to the Big Plan; the walking guide is also jam-packed with fun facts for children and adults alike. The activity sheet on the Big Plan contains a balanced mix of fun and instructive ingredients. A fun way to learn more about the city.

This tour consists of two walks. If Mechelen is completely new to you and your parents, the first walk, From Eagle to Swallow, will guide you into the heart of the city. Already know Mechelen like the back of your hand? Then jump straight into the second walk, With Wet Feet — a route that explores the banks of the River Dijle. The river becomes your guide, leading you along Mechelen’s charming waterfronts. It’s up to you: would you rather explore the Dijle or head into the city centre?
You’ll want to set aside a full morning or afternoon for this walk with your whole family. Of course, you don’t have to spend the same amount of time at every stop, and you can also skip some of the activities if you like.
